Competitive Events
FBLA-PBL's National Awards Program recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. Through state-based competition at the spring State Leadership Conferences, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills. Top state winners are then eligible to compete for national awards at the National Leadership Conference each summer.
The Competitive Event guidelines are updated each year and distributed to all chapters with the Chapter Management Handbook. Make sure you are using the most recent version of the guidelines to prepare for your competition.

*Today's successful businesses require a consistent message throughout the organization. A foundation of the strategy is the use of a format guide so that a corporation maintains a uniform image through all its communications. As the premier student business organization, it is our responsibility to guide our students according to today's business practices. With this in mind, a Format Guide has been crafted by which students and advisers can prepare for the Computer Applications and Word Processing skill events. Please review the Format Guide carefully in preparing for these events. The Format Guide may be utilized while taking the skill event testing for Computer Applications and Word Processing events. Judges for skill events will use the Format Guide as an answer key. If the Format Guide is not followed, the error will be considered a serious error and a deduction of five points will be taken.
